Oak & Steel benches with backrests
for the new “Oudolf Landscape” at
RHS Gardens Wisley
The exciting new “Oudolf Landscape” has been taking shape at RHS Garden Wisley. Oxford Oak was thrilled to be commissioned to make seven Oak & Steel benches with backrests for this project designed by inspirational landscape designer Piet Oudolf.
Peter Jones, Garden Manager at Wisley, chose Oak & Steel benches for their minimalist design, to harmonise with the “New Perennial” style planting, particularly as the planting mellows to its autumn and winter palettes.
The team at Wisley have been completing the transformation of the 2ha site planting over 37,000 plants this spring. The Oudolf Landscape was opened on May 15th 2024 with a ceremony for all those involved in the project.
The benches create comfortable seating along the new serpentine paths, encouraging visitors to slow down even more and enjoy the beautiful immersive planting.
