Materials – Oak
All our products are made in our Oxfordshire workshop from solid European oak
Oak is a naturally durable hardwood. We source our oak locally, from managed woodlands near our workshops in Oxfordshire, or from other woodlands in the UK and Europe. This makes oak a highly sustainable choice for public realm street furniture, compared to either tropical hardwoods, or less robust softwoods.
Oak is an attractive characterful wood. Warm to the touch, and very tactile, it is an ideal choice for comfortable public realm furniture.
Outdoors, the oak naturally weathers to an attractive silver grey. The characterful markings in the oak remain visible.
